The Beneficiaries

The proceeds from this year’s bikeathon will be awarded to the Akron Urban League and the Akron Area YMCA. Thousands of children and their families will benefit from your support! The Akron Urban League will commit its proceeds to the general support for its educational, youth and community programming. The Akron Area YMCA will use its proceeds for its ‘Partners With Youth’ financial assistance program, which makes sure that YMCA programs are available to everyone, regardless of the ability to pay. Consistent with Gloria’s (LeBron’s mom) and LeBron’s family’s vision, your support will empower youth and families by continuing to provide opportunities for the Akron Urban League and Akron Area YMCA to touch lives.
The other beneficiary is the community of Akron. By assisting LeBron in providing unique opportunities for deserving youth, individuals, families, employees, etc. to enjoy a day of celebration, the entire City of Akron and Northeast Ohio wins! Being a part of a health and wellness, green initiative for biking and a great event hosted by one of Akron’s prodigal sons brings great pride, tradition, role modeling and character to all participants and spectators.
